Often students choose a Course or a program which is not of their interest, to study in Australia, and they struggle to find a good job and as a result get frustrated.
Most of the education counselors show a very colourful and illusionary picture to the students and skilled professionals, and misguide them just because they do not have any idea about the Australian job market and the most importantly education and passion. They force the students to choose a degree or trade course which is beneficial to them just like a shopkeeper who has limited number of clothes to sell and sells it at any cost. They create a Chakravyuh in which a student is always trapped- First for getting into a course and then changing the course when they finish 6 months of study. After that when they complete the course they struggle to get skill assessment. They go to those agents again for either Job Ready Program or Professional Year Program and then for getting their Permanent visa.
Students can escape all this frustration and pain by changing their mindset. They should first focus on getting a good education of their interest and passion. If they will do so, they will be able to find a better job and later on it will open many pathways for getting permanent residency. Secondly, they should be mindful of getting the counselling. They should see if the counsellor himself/herself is educated enough to guide them. Australia’s migration law is one of the most frequent changing laws in the world. The skilled occupation list keeps changing. Therefore, the focus must be to get the good and quality education for which you pay and not the occupation which can’t be predicted 2, 3 or 4 years in advance.
I have witnessed pain and agony of hundreds of international students in Australia, and it has forced me to study Migration Law, and I decided to become a qualified Education counselor. I have tried to provide proper training to all my partners so that they can help to shape the future of the students and not to be an element in distorting their future.
Hope this insight will help you to have a smooth takeoff in your new beginning of international education and migration.
